Guided by a midwife
Join me, Rachael, a registered midwife with over 20 years’ experience and a certified hypnobirthing tutor. I will guide you through, step-by-step the techniques you can use to have a calm and positive labour and birth.
I have had the privilege of guiding many beautiful babies into the world and have experienced first hand how women have used hypnobirthing to feel in control, release hormones and also trust their body’s natural ability to birth their baby.
Our team is also developing a device that will record babies’ movements during pregnancy – the bitbaby. It will help expectant mothers to understand what a regular pattern of movements looks like so they feel reassured and confident.

FAQs
Breathing exercises have traditionally formed an integral part of antenatal classes. Hypnobirthing builds upon this foundation by incorporating relaxation, visualisation, and mindfulness techniques, aiding in your concentration on your body and the birth of your baby.
What’s more, Hypnobirthing can be seamlessly combined with your choices of pain relief and seamlessly incorporated into your birth plan.
The earlier in your pregnancy you start to practise the breathing techniques, meditations and visualisations daily, the more beneficial it can be. Especially if you’re feeling particularly anxious.
It’s your choice. You can start your daily practice after you have had your 20 weeks ultrasound scan or anytime between 28-32 weeks of pregnancy. The more you practise, the more beneficial it can be.
Controlled Breathing:
Engaging in deep, mindful breathing, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, can assist in maintaining composure, help you feel in control whilst managing discomfort during your surges when you’re in labour.
Visualisation:
Visualisation involves mentally envisioning a positive childbirth experience and your desired outcomes. This can range from specific scenarios to more general feelings you wish to experience. For instance, you might imagine the sensation of holding your baby skin-to-skin after their birth. It serves as a mental rehearsal to enhance your preparedness and optimism.
Deep Relaxation / Meditation:
Meditation can aid in focusing your attention on your body and the baby’s journey during labour, helping you tune out external noise or distractions in your environment.
